The Consul General of Italy in Barcelona Gaia Danese grants his first distinction.

Aldo Sollazzo, director of the Noumena design and technology studio ( based in Barcelona, ​​has been awarded the Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia medal, awarded by the Italian Embassy in Madrid and proposed and delivered by the Consul General of Italy in Barcelona, ​​Gaia Danese.
The distinction has been awarded to Sollazzo for his excellence as a creative and entrepreneur, beyond national borders, becoming one of the best representatives of Italian talent abroad, and helping Italy position itself as a country with great talents working within and outside the national territory.

Sollazzo maintains a strong link with Italy and in 2013 he founded the FabLab center in his hometown, Frosinone. Author of numerous publications and winner of several awards for innovative design, robotics and textile technology, he is curator and partner of The Fab Linkage, an action included in ITmakES – Vivere all’Italiana, a project promoted by the Italian Embassy in Madrid to promote the exchange between creative and Italian and Spanish makers. Gaia Danese, in Barcelona since September 2017, in her previous position as Counselor of the Italian Embassy in Madrid has launched the ITmakES project. Gaia is the youngest General Consul who has directed the consular headquarters of Barcelona and Aldo Sollazzo the youngest winner in Spain in recent years. This fact confirms the commitment to the renewal of Italian diplomacy abroad and to value the new generation of Italian emigration and especially the excellence of Italian soft power in cultural sectors such as cinema, music, haute cuisine, design and the architecture.
