From the 16th until the 20th of July 2018, the annual Symposium of the IASS (International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures) took place in Boston. The conference with the theme ‘Creativity in Structural Design’ was hosted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), aiming to bring together leading designers and researchers working in the fields of structural engineering and architecture from around the world. Among other researchers, Efilena Baseta presented her long paper ‘Geometry-induced variable stiffness structures’ in the session of Transformables.
