RESHAPE 15 | RESULTS

 

We are pleased to announce the winners of the RESHAPE15 | wearable technology competition 2015.
This competition has been established to promote research, education and production of digital ideas. The goal is to activate a prolific exchange of knowledge and information for the growth of an entire community joined by the love for innovation.

According to selection criteria, the Jury, formed by experts of fashion design, digital fabrication and computation design fields selected 3 winners and 2 honorable mentions. RESHAPE15received 70 applications from 25 different countries from all continents. The winners were selected for their conceptual idea, understanding of design to production strategies, and market viability.

The first place is awarded to #9AU7 (Pinar Guvenc, Inanc Eray, Gonzalo Carbajo and Marco Mattia Cristofori) for the project SPONGESUIT from USA, the project is a swimwear that is environmentally proactive, economically sustainable and intelligently manufactured combining cutting edge 3D printing and nano-scale clean-tech material (super-hydrophobic carbon based material called the Sponge) research.

The second place is awarded to #2PE5 (Selina Reiterer and Constantinos Miltiadis) for the project JOHN PAUL GEORGE & ME from Austria, the project is addressing the topic of interactive wearable textiles, and the project brings to children an interactive musical game, encouraging and stimulating their musical interest as well as their collaboration with each other to perform music.

The Thrid place is awarded to #0M76 (Emmanouil Vermisso, Mate Thitisawat, Boutros Bou-Nahra and Heather Akers) for the project CAROTID THERMO-REGULATOR from USA, the project is about reinventing the traditional neck Ruff as a liquid translator of bodily emotion. The idea resulting from the transformation of thermal data into graphic becomes an inherent ornamental quality of the piece.

The 2 honorable mentions include #11K7 (Judyta Cichocka and Zach Challies) for their project DIGITAL OUTLOOK and #6LF0 (Aino Aarnio-Juurinen and Visa Kupias) for their projectAVANTO amongst other projects.
