TOPOLOGICAL BEHAVIOURS | Centro de Estudios Superiores de Diseño de Monterrey

The third part of advances Workshop taught by Aldo Sollazzo of Noumena at the Superior School of Architecture in Monterrey,  Modelling Bricks as part of  discrete modular system at CEDIM.

The aim of the workshop is to explore a shift in the design paradigm, defining a new culture of emergent design from top-down to bottom-up strategies.

We’ll explore agent based design techniques, focusing on the definition of behaviors enabling agents to operate in information rich environments.Starting from pervasive data maps, the operational substrate, participants will design basic behaviors for a multi-agent based system able to grow in coherent compounds, which are not only responsive geometries, but are constantly assessed by an internal feedback system.

This process will be translated into digitally fabricated tiles generated by cnc-machine. The overall result will be the generation of a collective wall where each tiles is the outcome of a multiscalar act performed at the surface level, merging agent’s behaviours and topological propoerties of the environment.
